Founded in 2014, Warped Textiles is a bespoke weave studio based in Glasgow, Scotland, owned and run by Chantal Allen.

Driven by a deep-rooted passion for textile design, Chantal immersed herself in the craft of weaving during her studies at The Glasgow School of Art, where she began to shape her distinctive approach to material and structure.

Specializing in traditional artisanal techniques, her practice honour’s the rich heritage of weaving whilst responding to contemporary material innovations. Much of Chantal’s work is guided by a continual exploration of form, light, and structure, often realised through the interplay of unexpected materials such as copper wire, metal and paper yarns. These elements, combined with extensive research into gauze and undulating techniques, allow her to develop exclusive, bespoke textiles for a broad range of applications.

In addition to her solo practice, Chantal is the co-founder of Vevar, a design consultancy and small-batch production studio located in Glasgow’s vibrant East End.
